April Song Ideas

Check out these simple song ideas for your spring music classes or music therapy sessions!! In addition to just being ENGAGING songs KIDS LOVE, they incorporate music, movement, instrument play, sensory play, and visuals to address reading, language, science, math and social emotional learning goals!

🌷 Help to Grow

• Choose instruments to represent each of the 4 things a plant needs to grow! i.e. soil - triangle (for a shovel sound!); Water - rainstick; Sun - glockenspiel!; Air - slide whistle or harmonica!

• Choose movements! I.e. soil - digging motion; water - splashing motion; sun - arms overhead forming a circle; air - breathe in - hands up to shoulders, create out - hands back down

• Make it sensory!! Present a clear bin, as you go, help the kids add seeds, scoops of soil, water (spray bottle!), sun (flashlight!) and air (breathe on the seed!)

• OR! grab the printables or google slides from the Spring Bundle for a reading + language + matching song!

🌷 Ten Little Blossoms

• Create a sensory bin flower garden with “dirt” (or black beans!), fake flowers, seeds, mini flower pots, scoops, etc.!

• OR! grab the printable or google slides from the Spring Bundle to practice counting
